House Rules

Guests will absolutely observe the following rules as they are meant to protect the sanctity of our environment and maintain the properties so all guests can enjoy them in the future.

-Only house-broken and hypoallergenic dogs allowed; sorry, no cats. Please coordinate pet travel and fees with us prior to arrival. The pet fee is set to $50 per pet per night.

-Do not run the A/C while the doors or windows are open; this will cause the A/C unit to freeze and require services for which you are liable. The tech's visit will be charged at the $250 per visit rate in addition to the repair costs.

-Do not engage in illegal activities on the premises—no drug use is allowed whatsoever

-Do not exceed the allowed number of guests for the space. This is a safety issue and will not be tolerated. Breaking this rule will cause you to be asked to vacate the premises and forgo a refund.

-No parties, no outside visitors, no overnight guests without previous approval from your host. Bachelor and bachelorette celebrations are allowed with prior coordination. Family reunions are also allowed with prior coordination. In all instances, maximum guest occupancy will not be broken.

-Do not smoke or discard cigarette butts inside the home; please use the provided ashtrays and do not smoke near the entrances and the odor still makes it inside the home.

-Do not engage in underage drinking or smoking on the premises.

-Respect quiet hours of 8 pm to 8 am.

-Do not play loud music on the premises.

-Do not remove or borrow any private property without the host’s permission.

-Do not engage in any physical or verbal altercation on the premises.

-Do not have sex in the hot tub.

-Do not have glass containers by the hot tub.

-Do not use the hot tub while under the influence of alcohol or drugs.

-Children under the age of 16 will not be allowed to use the hot tub without adult supervision.

-Children who are not potty-trained are not allowed in the hot tub.

-Rinse your body and swimsuit before using the hot tub as not doing so will create suds and require extra servicing for which you are liable. Extra service will be charged at the $100 per service rate.

Breaking any of the above rules is grounds for immediate dismissal from the premises without a reimbursement due to a breach of trust.

Additionally, we encourage you to purchase travel insurance to deal with unforeseen travel issues and cancellations.

The space
The house is a large four-bedroom and four-bathroom home decorated in a coastal theme to go with Savannah's Marsh. The space is cozy and inviting, perfect for family reunions, Bachelorettes, or simply touring our beautiful city.

The home combines beachy-style decor with a traditional look and a serene landscape that will help you decompress from the pressures of daily life. It is light, welcoming, and fresh - casual yet sophisticated - all in one.

You have easy access to all the food, shopping, and attractions of Wilmington Island, Savannah, and Tybee Island.

Disclaimers:

-The home sits next to the main road, so you may hear traffic during peak hours. This is usually not disturbing to our guests, but we like to disclose it upfront.

- The lot is shared with two other listings. Only the parking area and driveway are shared. Please refer to the listings’ pictures for more perspective.

-We provide all of our stays with startup quantities of toilet paper, paper towels, and other consumables. This is designed so you can get settled and start your stay without worrying about the basics. These quantities are enough to last a typical 3-day stay depending on consumption rates. Should you need more supplies, you can easily reach Walmart, Publix, and Kroger within 5-minutes from the home.
Guest access
Guests have access to the driveway, the home, and the front yard. The backyard and parking area are shared with other guests staying on two separate listings.

Guests on the separate listing are instructed to respect your privacy - we ask that you do the same for theirs.

We invite you to relax and enjoy the hot tub. Turn the water temperature up an hour prior to use until water is at a comfortable level (we recommend between 98 and 99 degrees). When not in use, remember to turn the water temperature to a slightly cooler level (90 degrees is a good choice). Please ensure the cover is over the hot tub while not in use - this will help maintain the temperature so it is readily available when you want it.

No children under the age of 12 are permitted in the hot tub at any time. The American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG) states that becoming overheated in a hot tub during pregnancy is not recommended. When using the hot tub, remember that there are certain health risks associated with using the amenity. use at your own risk. Our housekeepers drain, sanitize, refill, and replenish chemicals in the tub prior to your arrival; therefore, it may not be warm until later in the evening. Additionally, the hot tub is professionally serviced weekly by a certified spa maintainer. This usually takes place on Fridays.

Lastly, Hot tub covers are for insulation purposes and are not rated or designed to support a person or persons. Please, do not stand or sit on the hot tub cover as it will break and cause you to be charged for a replacement. Remember, when not using the hot tub, leave the cover on so the water can remain warm.
Additional notes
The Marsh Retreat has three separate listings on-site (the home and two campers). The only shared spaces are the parking area and the driveway.

We will be available for you as much or as little as you want us to be. We live close, so we are quick to respond over the phone or in-person as necessary. Our priority is ensuring that you have a great time on our property and that your privacy is respected at all times.
Neighborhood overview
The property sits on the corner of Blue Heron Dr and Quarterman Dr. There are a total of 1.4 acres of private property with no immediate neighbors on the front, back, or either side of the house and campers. Be aware that Quarterman Dr. is a primary road that connects Wilmington Island with Highway 80, so you might hear typical traffic sounds, especially during high traffic hours (morning and evening).
Getting around
The house is conveniently located in Wilmington Island, which is halfway between Tybee Island (15-min) and Downtown Savannah (10-min). You can easily Uber/Lyft to either side if you're not interested in driving around - but you will definitely need transportation to get around as the roadways are not walkable due to the lack of sidewalks.

There is a very nice Kroger grocery store approximately a mile from the house. In the event of an emergency, you can go to Urgent Care 24/7 in Whitemarsh (6-minute drive). The Chatham County Police Precinct is approximately 2.5-miles. And the closest fire emergency station is 2.5-miles away.
