House Rules

Guests will absolutely observe the following rules as they are meant to protect the sanctity of our environment and maintain the properties so all guests can enjoy them in the future.

-Only house-broken and hypoallergenic dogs allowed; sorry, no cats. Please coordinate pet travel and fees with us prior to arrival. The pet fee is set to $50 per pet per night.

-Do not run the A/C while the doors or windows are open; this will cause the A/C unit to freeze and require services for which you are liable. The tech's visit will be charged at the $250 per visit rate in addition to the repair costs.

-Do not flush anything but toilet paper as the home is on a septic system. Any evidence of clogs caused by improper use will incur a service call to a technician and a $500 service fee will be assessed.

-Do not dispose of any food through the sink as there is no food processor. Please dispose of all food leftovers in the trashcan instead. Disposing of food using the sink will potentially clog pipes leading to clogs in the septic system.

-Do not engage in illegal activities on the premises—no drug use is allowed whatsoever.

-Do not exceed the allowed number of guests for the space. This is a safety issue and will not be tolerated. Breaking this rule will cause you to be asked to vacate the premises and forgo a refund.

-No parties, no outside visitors, no overnight guests without previous approval from your host. Bachelor and bachelorette celebrations are allowed with prior coordination. Family reunions are also allowed with prior coordination. In all instances, maximum guest occupancy will not be broken.

-Do not smoke or discard cigarette butts inside the home; please use the provided ashtrays and do not smoke near the entrances and the odor still makes it inside the home.

-Do not engage in underage drinking or smoking on the premises.

-Respect quiet hours of 8 pm to 8 am.

-Do not play loud music on the premises.

-Do not remove or borrow any private property without the host’s permission.

-Do not engage in any physical or verbal altercation on the premises.

Breaking any of the above rules is grounds for immediate dismissal from the premises without a reimbursement due to a breach of trust.

Additionally, we encourage you to purchase travel insurance to deal with unforeseen travel issues and cancellations.

The space
Our home is located in a residential neighborhood with little traffic. This makes the space feel warm and welcoming - just like home.

You will enjoy the convenience of having a Walmart, Publix grocery store, many restaurants and bars nearby, without being in a congested area. Effortlessly arrive to either the beach or downtown using Uber or driving - either way, you will find that the home will serve as the perfect hub for your time in the Hostess City.

Guest access
Guests will have access to all amenities in the home. We ask that any internal doors with a keypad is not opened as they contain the property’s linens and other consumables. These are not open to guest access.
Additional notes
The property is in a quiet residential neighborhood, so please be respectful of all neighbors.

Pet fee is $50 per night per pet. Only dogs allowed.

The toilets and sinks drain to a septic system, so please only flush toilet paper in in the bathroom - no feminine products or baby wipes. Also, please dispose of leftover food using the trash can, not the sink.

Please ensure all doors and the garage are closed as you come and go.

We will be available for you as much or as little as you want us to be. We live close, so we are quick to respond over the phone or in person as necessary. Our priority is ensuring that you have a great time on our property and that your privacy is respected at all times.
Neighborhood overview
Our quaint neighborhood is quiet, mature, and absolutely convenient to all the necessities of life. There is a Walmart less than a mile away, with many food options in the same shopping center. You are about a minute away from highway 80, which will take you all the way to Tybee Island (the beach) if you head East. If you head West, you will arrive at Downtown Savannah in about 10-minutes.

One of the coolest features of our neighborhood is that we are adjacent to the Oatland Island Wildlife Refuge. For a small admission fee, you can walk the trails, observing some of the local and regional wildlife, either roaming free or in enclosures. Towards the end of the walk, you will go down a boardwalk that takes you right through the Savannah Marsh - very relaxing!

Getting around
The house is conveniently located on Oatland Island, which is halfway between Tybee Island (15-min) and Downtown Savannah (10-min). You can easily Uber/Lyft to either side if you're not interested in driving around - but you will definitely need transportation to get around as the roadways are not walkable due to the lack of sidewalks.

There is a very nice Publix grocery store approximately a mile from the house. Walmart is also located in the same shopping center. In the event of an emergency, you can go to Urgent Care 24/7 in Whitemarsh (a 6-minute drive). The Chatham County Police Precinct is approximately 2.5-miles. And the closest fire emergency station is 2.5-miles away.
